Post Birthday Week

It was the Monday after my birthday and Mommy decided that one party was just not enough, so she sent cupcakes to daycare for all my little friends and sent me in my birthday wear!! You got to milk this birthday thing as long as possible.
The things I can do now that I am one:
  • I am talking some, no real words except Bye and occasionally Mama.
  • I am transitioning to my sippy- reluctantly.
  • My favorite foods are real green beans and peas.
  • I have a total of 7 teeth but will be getting another one soon.
  • I am not walking yet but I can take one step or two then drop down and crawl, because I am a pro at that!!
  • In the past week, I have tumbled off of my changing table and jumped out of my bed. (that one really scared mommy and hurt me too, she heard a thud and found me on the floor. Those thick bumper pads make a good step.
  • My favorite places to go that I am not supposed to are - the bathroom toilet and Sydney's water bowl. Here I am in a birthday gift. The frog lady, Ms Patti, got this for me along with the shoes, I love the bling!!
Since Memorial day is around the corner, Mommy felt is necessary to dress me in red, white, and blue on Friday. Here I am in a dress my Granny got me. Aren't the polka dots just great!!

I experienced another first this week, I went to my first baseball game. Semo (Mya's daddy's team) was playing in the OVC tournament in Paducah, so I had to go show some support. Although I only supported for about 45 minutes, I did dress the part.

Top 4 reasons why I will probably never play ball:
  • Too Hot
  • Too Dirty
  • All the players wear the same outfits
  • They wear hats, I didn't see any with bows!!

That game sure did take a lot out of me!!

One of my new birthday toys is this lion!! Aren't lions great!! :) I can push it down the hall and his nose plays a song. With this thing I can speed down to the bathroom faster- that is my favorite room. That big water bowl is real fun to play in.I love my morning breakfast of bananas and cherrios- Mommy usually slices off pieces of the banana and hands them to me, she sat it down so I showed her how I can eat it just like a little monkey.
Everybody needs a big red bow for Memorial Day, or at least I do. Carrying over the red, white, and blue here I am before church.

And here I am after church. Somebody left hersey kisses on the table- if only I could figure out how to take the paper off, I would be in business.

Happy Birthday to me!! I'm One!!

My first birthday was Saturday, May 16th- we had a fish fry and I discovered I really like fish. Good thing...Here is the front of my house- can you see my first birthday decorations. Here is the back yard, all set for some good fish frying. It kept looking like rain and ended up raining about the time to eat, so the party was moved inside. Here are my cakes. I had a strawberry cake, a little white cake and cupcakes with white chocolate icing. Oh and notice my presents too. Here I am with Poppy telling him he needs to get started on the fish...I am excited to try some! Here I am with Mimi checking out the decorations. Are these the color of fish in KY lake?Look Mya came to my party- It was so nice to see her- she is a bow person too.She was very helpful, she helped me open my presents. She also helped me to try out my new books. Here I am looking at one I have had since Christmas, Mya is making sure the new one is appropriate for me...what are cousins for..I just can't decide which one to open next. Here was my favorite gift, a swing. I really liked to sit in it on the floor- my Aunt Darlene won the prize.
Oh look, Mya also tested out the cupcakes first too. Looks like they are a winner. Now that I know all is good, I am ready to dive into my cake. Before I got any cake, I had to have a picture in the party hat, Mommy made it but I really don't like it much. The feathers tickle my face and it is hard to balance. Notice I also borrowed a cuter high chair for pictures, it is all about the look you know.
So I resorted to the other hat Mommy made, the knitted one. Happy Birthday to me...ready to blow out the candle and get going!!

This stuff would make good paint or lotion.
Ummm- yummy!!

So good I have to make my old man face.

Wait I dropped some, this stuff is too good to waste.

So good, I think I will lick the tray. How much longer until I am two????

Pretty Days at the Park

It was such a pretty day, Mommy and I went to the park. We strolled down to look at the ducks. I couldn't figure out why that one duck kept sticking his bottom in the air. I got so excited I just had to try and stand up- in my stroller.

We got on the slide too. I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. I keep wanting to put my feet down.

But the swing, now that was my favorite!! The last time we came I was a little unsure but not now, I am ready to go!! Weee

I got an early birthday present this week from Ms Dianne. She gave me two books. I really like looking at the Peek a Who? one- I like to put my fingers through the circle on the front.

Somedays I feel a little retro. This is my 60s look- not that I have any clue what the 60s are..but go with it!!

Mommy has decided in order to not loose my bows at school I need to make sure they are different than anyone elses so if they are found on the floor there will be no question that they are mine!! Here is my new one...I am also really trying to figure out why I don't have this headband on..and how these sequins are attached. Oh my onesie says "Mommy's answered prayer"- don't you love it! I have a new favorite place. I have noticed Sydney going into this cage and I thought I might try it out. Here is how Mommy found me. She was getting ready and I thought I would just hang out here for a while. She considered closing the door to keep me contained, but I think there may be laws against that!!

Bathtime Fun and Mother's Day

Spring is here and so is the rain, but there was one sunny day last week, so to celebrate I wore my sun hat and polka dots of course. Since the weather is getting warmer, it is time to break out the swim suits. I am hoping to get some water and boat time this summer. My first suit, is a two piece nautical. Good thing I have a hat, looks like I am going to need lots of sun protection in this one.The next suit is a cherry theme. Notice the matching bows on the straps and legs- if I don't have a bow in my hair you know I have to have them somewhere. My final suit is a garden theme. This one has ruffles and a cute bow on the back. Here I am trying to get a peak at Mommy's jewelry. My pre birthday outfit. Ya'll know this Saturday is my big one year birthday- so I had to wear my cupcake dress to church this week. Did you notice the cupcake in the bow?? Typical right.. Can you believe I have had this dress since Christmas. Mommy and Mimi got it for my on their after Thanksgiving shopping trip- remember that one...
This Sunday was also Mother's Day- it was the first one for Mommy. She remembers last year thinking maybe I would come on this day...but I wasn't ready yet. Here is the whole family after church. Don't get excited it isn't an episode of The Bachelor... Daddy is holding Mommy and Mimi's rose- all the mothers got one. I, of course, am wanting to get my hands on one.

The church thing always seems to tucker me out. Mommy says this is the only time a double chin is cute... How about my new look?? Here is my first attempt at pig tails. I think they are pig tails when they are short and dog ears when they are long. I don't know about you but I have never seen such a straight tail on a pig. I kind of think they look more like horns. Now if I am going to wear this style, Mommy is going to have to stock up on bows...it takes two not one. Anyway you can see I am sporting my "I Love Mom" shirt just for her on Mother's Day. Mommy says this shirt reminds her of the ones she used to get when she was little at Snow's sporting goods- you know the iron on ones with the big iron and eraser...

Ok now to my new fun thing, running water. I LOVE it!! Mommy thought I might be afraid so she used to fill my bath then let me get in- but now I get to get in first and oh the fun of trying to catch the water. I even sometimes but my face in it!!

I just can't figure out how that duck makes so much water!!

Here is me in action. Sorry the video is sideways but Mommy couldn't figure out how to turn it around.
